Let's connect

On November 30, Bow Valley College is participating in Giving Tuesday, a global generosity movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world. We are excited to host our first-ever Giving Day, with a goal of raising $40,000 to support student awards and bursaries and access to education for all students.

Thanks to our generous matching gift donor, the Bharwani Foundation, each gift supporting the Bharwani Foundation and Community Future Education Fund made  (up to $50) will be matched (up to $20,000), doubling the impact of your gift. This fund supports four new student awards, specifically for single parents, BIPOC students, newcomers to Canada and a general award open to all students.

All gifts, no matter the size, make a significant impact. This Giving Day, we encourage you to give the amount and to the fund of your choice. Some employers might even match your contribution, so don't forget to check with yours.

Join us on November 30 for a day of giving to show your support for our Bow Valley College students and help us make all learning count.

What is Giving Day?

On November 30, Bow Valley College is participating in Giving Tuesday, a global generosity movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world. We are excited to host our first-ever Giving Day, with a goal of raising $40,000 to support student awards and bursaries and access to education for all students.

Why should I make a Gift to the Bharwani and Community Future Education Fund?

This Giving Day, we encourage you to give to the Bharwani and Community Future Education Fund in order to have your donation doubled. For each gift of up to $50, our generous donor will match it dollar for dollar (to a maximum of $20,000). So, if you are looking for an area to support our students, please consider giving to the Bharwani and Community Future Education Fund. Endowments are important for post-secondary institutions as they allow your gift to continue in perpetuity. Establishing and contributing to an endowment ensures that we have the funds to support students for generations to come.

How will my gift make a significant impact on this Giving Day and help support a student?

Working with our partner, the Bharwani Foundation, all gifts up to $50 (to a maximum of $20,000) will be matched towards the fund. Because of this, your gift will have an amplified impact in perpetuity. For example, if you give $20 today towards the Bharwani and Community Future Education Fund, then your gift will have an impact of $40. By supporting this endowment, your gift will be invested with all other gifts from community members like you. Every year, this fund will support students in these four areas: BIPOC students, newcomers to Canada, single parents and a general fund available to all students. Endowments allow us to offer these awards in perpetuity; as the fund grows, we hope to offer more awards each year.

How do I make a gift to participate in Giving Day?

Giving Day Starts at 8 am on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, and closes at midnight. However, you can also make your gift earlier if you would like! You can give online at https://bowvalleycollege.ca/about/give-to-bow-valley-college/givenow. Donations up to $50 made between now and November 30, 2021 will be eligible for gift matching up to a maximum of $20,000. Thank you for your support!

Is Bow Valley College a registered charity?

Yes! Our charitable registration number is No. 87843 1683 RR0001

How do awards and bursaries help students?

Student awards and bursaries are integral to student success at Bow Valley College. In 2020/21, more than 655 students received more $990,000 in awards and bursaries, allowing them to continue to pursue their studies free from financial pressures. We know that access to education is the greatest agent of social change, and we are committed to removing barriers to education for our students.

Can I make a monthly gift? How does monthly giving help students?

Monthly giving is easy! It automates your giving and allows you to budget your charitable contributions over the year. For example, $10 a month amounts to $120 a year. This can make a significant impact for one of our students! For more information about monthly giving, contact us at invest@bowvalleycollege.ca or consider adding a monthly gift to your Giving Day contributions. Please note, only donations made during the Giving Day period will be eligible for gift matching.

What areas can I give to?

You can support any area at Bow Valley College that is important to you. Our goal for our first-ever Giving Day is participation and bringing our community together to make a big impact on student success! We hope to garner as much participation as possible in this great initiative and bring our community together! If you don’t see the specific area you are looking to support, you can email invest@bowvalleycollege.ca for help or more information.

Will 100% of my gift go to my designated area?

Yes! 100% of your gift will be directed to the area of your choosing.

Is there a minimum donation amount?

Yes. The minimum gift amount is $5.

If I am a Bow Valley College employee, can I make a gift as a monthly Choices donor and still be eligible for the matching gift?

Yes! If you direct your gift to the Bharwani and Community Future Education Fund, then your gift will be matched (up to $50 per gift and to a maximum of $20,000).

Can I send a donation by mail?

Yes! You can mail in your donation as long as the envelope is received on or postmarked for November 30, 2021. Your gift will count towards our totals. You can send a one-time gift via check payable to Bow Valley College or sign up for a monthly gift via credit card or postdated checks. Our address is:
